Do Not take away the Sand!
We strongly urge you: do not take away the sand!
Don’t fall in to this irresistible desire!
Taking sand is a severely punished offense!
According to law n°16 of July 28th, 2017 of the Sardinia region, taking away sand, pebbles, shells, corals, and generally any organic or inorganic material is considered a crime punishable by a fine ranging from 500 up to 3000 euros!
Available in the following languages:
Tons of sand, pebbles, quartz, rocks, starfish, and pinna nobilis shells have been sequestrated!
Every year in the ports and airports of Sardinia more than 5 tons of material removed from the beaches are requisitioned by the Police.
Help Sardinia: report sand thefts to the authorities!
Dear guest friend of our island, please be respectful of our natural heritage, help us to protect and preserve it for our children and grandchildren.
Why can’t you take the sand?
The marine environment is not made up only of the liquid element, but also of essential elements for the ecosystem such as sand, shells and carapaces of mollusks and invertebrates, or pebbles and rocks that you find underfoot.
All these elements have allowed, over the millennia, to form the extraordinary environment in which you are relaxing and for which Sardinia is unique in the world!
Love Sardinia: look, touch, but leave everything where it is.
If you truly love the environment that is hosting you, why not to leave everything in its place that you are enjoying? Nature will thank you and you will avoid a certain fine and a hefty penalty!
–> Remember, for a single bottle filled with sand, you risk up to 3000 euros in penalties! <–
