Hello!

We are Daniela and Michele, owners and managers of the Ca’ del Sol since 2008, and we look forward to welcoming you.

Daniela was born in Nuoro (the capital of Sardinia’s mountainous interior) and studied in Venice where she graduated in Codicologia (the study of ancient illuminated books and manuscripts). Michele was born in Venice where he obtained a degree in fine art: click here for his personal web site.

After running a hotel in Venice for seven years we both felt the need to change to a slower pace of life and to dedicate ourselves to the world of Travel and Hospitality in a way that would allow us to bring more sharing and exchange to personal encounters.

Spellbound by the beauty of Sardinia we set a course for the island and in 2007 we arrived in the historic centre of Cagliari. There we opened the doors of the house of our dreams to visitors. The Ca’ del Sol is situated on the second floor of Palazzo Zamberletti, an authentic nineteenth century architectural jewel with views over the Golfo degli Angeli on the southern edge of the Mediterranean.

The property belonged to Daniela’s family and it has been lovingly restored. Since 2008 this house has become a meeting place and the source of countless travellers’ tales for visitors dazzled by the beauty of Sardinia. Many of these have become friends for whom we maintain a link between the island and their countries of origin.

For us, each new guest is a new journey!

We chose the name Ca’ del Sol as a tribute to the Mediterranean sun which lights up the house all year long and which inspired our motto “The more the sun shines the happier I feel”. Year after year, we have taken care of all the furnishings here, modifying, constructing and decorating things that, with Michele’s paintings and sculptures, create an atmosphere of “home-studio-atelier”.

Whatever it is that you would like to do in Cagliari we can help you enjoy your experience to the maximum thanks to the help of many friends and colleagues who have expert local knowledge. We can offer you a boat trip in the Golfo di Cagliari, a jeep day-trip along panoramic roads inaccessible to cars, an amazing experience deep underground in the Sulcis geo-mineral park, a bird watching bike ride in the salt flats natural park or more simply a relaxing day with sun bed and umbrella on Cagliari’s Poetto beach.
